Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the , Electronic Parts/Components and Cement sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted declined 0.74%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Lily Textile Co Ltd (TW:1443), which rose 10.00% or 0.61 points to trade at 6.71 at the close. Hotel Holiday Garden (TW:2702) added 9.81% or 1.80 points to end at 20.15 and Ching Feng Home Fashions Co Ltd (TW:9935) was up 9.78% or 1.80 points to 20.20 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Crowell Development Corp (TW:2528), which lost 9.74% or 1.70 points to trade at 15.75 in late trade. Sino Horizon Holdings Ltd (TW:2923) declined 8.76% or 1.90 points to end at 19.80 and Airtac International Group (TW:1590) shed 8.56% or 32.00 points to 342.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 528 to 274 and 109 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was down 0.40% or 0.30 to $73.81 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 0.75% or 0.59 to hit $78.27 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.20% or 2.50 to trade at $1252.90 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.32% to 30.457, while TWD/CNY rose 0.32% to 0.2193.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 93.92.
