Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the , Optoelectronic and Electricity sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted lost 0.64%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Jentech Precision Industrial Co Ltd (TW:3653), which rose 10.00% or 7.70 points to trade at 84.70 at the close. Mospec Semiconductor Corp (TW:2434) added 10.00% or 1.25 points to end at 13.75 and Hsin Ba Ba Corp (TW:9906) was up 9.92% or 1.20 points to 13.30 in late trade.
Biggest losers included General Interface Solution GIS Holding Ltd (TW:6456), which lost 9.82% or 16.50 points to trade at 151.50 in late trade. Action Electronics Co Ltd (TW:3024) declined 6.52% or 0.550 points to end at 7.880 and Hotel Holiday Garden (TW:2702) shed 6.39% or 1.15 points to 16.85.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 570 to 237 and 105 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was down 0.20% or 0.14 to $68.58 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 0.06% or 0.05 to hit $77.22 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.07% or 0.90 to trade at $1202.20 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.03% to 30.792, while TWD/CNY rose 0.04% to 0.2226.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.06% at 95.13.
