Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the , Glass and Other Electronic sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted lost 0.37%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Lung Hwa Electronics Co Ltd (TW:2424), which rose 10.00% or 2.70 points to trade at 29.70 at the close. Green Seal Holding Ltd (TW:1262) added 9.97% or 6.20 points to end at 68.40 and Microtek International Inc (TW:2305) was up 8.65% or 0.82 points to 10.30 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Lelon Electronics Corp (TW:2472), which lost 7.79% or 5.00 points to trade at 59.20 in late trade. Sintronic Technology Inc (TW:3536) declined 6.29% or 1.35 points to end at 20.10 and Ace Pillar Co Ltd (TW:8374) shed 5.57% or 1.65 points to 27.95.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 513 to 252 and 115 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for February delivery was up 0.35% or 0.20 to $57.42 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 0.27% or 0.17 to hit $63.58 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.12% or 1.50 to trade at $1267.00 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.11% to 29.973, while TWD/CNY rose 0.05% to 0.2205.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.02% at 93.21.
