Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the , Electronic Parts/Components and Optoelectronic sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted lost 0.17%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Shuttle Inc (TW:2405), which rose 9.68% or 1.20 points to trade at 13.60 at the close. Elan Microelectronics Corp (TW:2458) added 9.62% or 4.45 points to end at 50.70 and Chi Mei Materials Technology Corp (TW:4960) was up 8.73% or 1.20 points to 14.95 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Young Optics Inc (TW:3504), which lost 6.30% or 4.10 points to trade at 61.00 in late trade. Elite Material Co Ltd (TW:2383) declined 5.00% or 6.00 points to end at 114.00 and Darwin Precisions Corp (TW:6120) shed 4.76% or 1.40 points to 28.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 380 to 368 and 129 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to $54.30 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 0.15% or 0.09 to hit $60.58 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.14% or 1.80 to trade at $1279.10 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.16% to 30.193, while TWD/CNY rose 0.32% to 0.2193.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.27% at 94.44.
