Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the , Glass and Trading & Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted declined 0.11%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Geo Vision (TW:3356), which rose 10.00% or 4.25 points to trade at 46.75 at the close. China Wire&Cab (TW:1603) added 10.00% or 1.35 points to end at 14.85 and Leadtek (TW:2465) was up 9.96% or 0.80 points to 8.83 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Johnson (TW:1736), which lost 6.78% or 3.25 points to trade at 44.65 in late trade. Taiflex (TW:8039) declined 5.08% or 1.55 points to end at 28.95 and Chipmos (TW:8150) shed 4.81% or 1.40 points to 27.70.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 374 to 367 and 130 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was down 0.16% or 0.08 to $50.55 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.04% or 0.02 to hit $51.36 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.26% or 3.25 to trade at $1264.25 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.41% to 31.654, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.00% to 0.2127.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.12% at 98.41.
