Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the , Hotels and Trading & Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted fell 0.05% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Optimax Technology Corp (TW:3051), which rose 9.95% or 0.42 points to trade at 4.64 at the close. Holy Stone Enterprise Co Ltd (TW:3026) added 9.94% or 6.20 points to end at 68.60 and Leadtek Research Inc (TW:2465) was up 9.91% or 1.70 points to 18.85 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Jui Li Enterprise Co Ltd (TW:1512), which lost 9.96% or 1.25 points to trade at 11.30 in late trade. Global PMX Co Ltd (TW:4551) declined 6.48% or 10.50 points to end at 151.50 and Apex International Co Ltd (TW:4927) shed 4.43% or 0.90 points to 19.40.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 429 to 319 and 127 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was up 0.11% or 0.06 to $55.39 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 0.26% or 0.16 to hit $62.03 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.01% or 0.11 to trade at $1277.81 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.26% to 30.071, while TWD/CNY rose 0.18% to 0.2196.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.03% at 93.75.
