Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the , Electronic Parts/Components and Electricity sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted fell 0.04%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Arcadyan Technology Corp (TW:3596), which rose 10.00% or 7.10 points to trade at 78.10 at the close. Altek Corp (TW:3059) added 9.96% or 3.60 points to end at 39.75 and Teapo Electronic Corp (TW:2375) was up 9.95% or 6.50 points to 71.80 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Infodisc Technology Co Ltd (TW:2491), which lost 7.58% or 0.75 points to trade at 9.15 in late trade. Yageo Corp (TW:2327) declined 6.20% or 75.00 points to end at 1135.00 and King Core Electronics Inc (TW:6155) shed 6.20% or 2.25 points to 34.05.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 444 to 354 and 115 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was up 0.53% or 0.35 to $66.45 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 0.35% or 0.27 to hit $76.73 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.13% or 1.70 to trade at $1301.50 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.11% to 29.855, while TWD/CNY fell 0.14% to 0.2142.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.19% at 93.74.
