Investing.com – Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Auto, Computers & Peripherals and Cement sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted added 0.83%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Microelectroni (TW:2314), which rose 10.00% or 2.50 points to trade at 27.50 at the close. L&K Eng (TW:6139) added 9.89% or 2.65 points to end at 29.45 and Gem Terminal (TW:2460) was up 9.85% or 1.00 points to 11.15 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Realtek (TW:2379), which lost 5.96% or 6.50 points to trade at 102.50 in late trade. Tainan Cayman (TW:5906) declined 5.43% or 0.330 points to end at 5.750 and Pan Intl Ind (TW:2328) shed 3.89% or 1.25 points to 30.85.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 387 to 329 and 128 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to $47.05 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.28% or 0.14 to hit $49.10 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.16% or 2.15 to trade at $1325.85 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.12% to 31.390, while TWD/CNY fell 0.05% to 0.2127.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.12% at 95.42.
