Investing.com – Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Glass, Cement & Glass and Auto sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted gained 0.55%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Pan Intl Ind (TW:2328), which rose 9.95% or 1.95 points to trade at 21.55 at the close. Epileds Tech (TW:4956) added 9.91% or 1.60 points to end at 17.75 and Shinih (TW:9944) was up 9.85% or 2.00 points to 22.30 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Candmark (TW:5259), which lost 9.91% or 0.23 points to trade at 2.09 in late trade. Sintronic Tech (TW:3536) declined 4.06% or 0.55 points to end at 13.00 and Li Cheng (TW:4426) shed 3.79% or 5.50 points to 139.50.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 460 to 275 and 115 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was down 0.84% or 0.40 to $47.01 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.63% or 0.31 to hit $48.85 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.03% or 0.45 to trade at $1342.95 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.27% to 31.717, while TWD/CNY rose 0.05% to 0.2098.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.16% at 94.37.
