Investing.com – Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Electricity, Optoelectronic and Cement sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted gained 0.63%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Swancor Holding Co Ltd (TW:3708), which rose 9.98% or 6.00 points to trade at 66.10 at the close. Pan Jit International Inc (TW:2481) added 9.94% or 2.35 points to end at 26.00 and RichWave Technology Corp (TW:4968) was up 9.93% or 4.00 points to 44.30 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Pharmally International Holding Co Ltd (TW:6452), which lost 9.79% or 20.50 points to trade at 189.00 in late trade. Green Seal Holding Ltd (TW:1262) declined 8.15% or 3.15 points to end at 35.50 and TPK Holding Co Ltd (TW:3673) shed 6.04% or 3.10 points to 48.20.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 619 to 205 and 78 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was up 0.06% or 0.04 to $63.73 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 0.54% or 0.39 to hit $73.28 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.32% or 4.00 to trade at $1234.60 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.38% to 30.623, while TWD/CNY fell 0.13% to 0.2249.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.92% at 96.01.
