Investing.com – Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Paper & Pulp, Optoelectronic and Glass sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted added 0.45% to hit a new all time high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were AVer Information Inc (TW:3669), which rose 10.00% or 2.00 points to trade at 22.00 at the close. AVerMedia Technologies Inc (TW:2417) added 10.00% or 1.10 points to end at 12.10 and Calin Technology Co Ltd (TW:4976) was up 9.99% or 4.65 points to 51.20 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ASRock Inc (TW:3515), which lost 8.62% or 7.90 points to trade at 83.80 in late trade. Sun Race Sturmey-Archer Inc (TW:1526) declined 5.12% or 1.55 points to end at 28.75 and Biostar Microtech International Corp (TW:2399) shed 4.99% or 0.85 points to 16.20.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 549 to 233 and 94 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was up 0.49% or 0.23 to $47.52 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 0.08% or 0.04 to hit $52.30 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.78% or 10.36 to trade at $1340.76 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.18% to 30.038, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.00% to 0.2171.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.10% at 92.48.
