Investing.com – Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Glass, Trading & Consumer Goods and Other sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted gained 0.37%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Everspring Industry Co Ltd (TW:2390), which rose 10.00% or 1.10 points to trade at 12.10 at the close. Jean Co Ltd (TW:2442) added 9.96% or 1.30 points to end at 14.35 and We & Win Development Co Ltd (TW:2537) was up 8.91% or 0.55 points to 6.72 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Pharmally International Holding Co Ltd (TW:6452), which lost 9.75% or 13.50 points to trade at 125.00 in late trade. Airtac International Group (TW:1590) declined 7.58% or 23.00 points to end at 280.50 and Career Technology MFG Co Ltd (TW:6153) shed 5.65% or 2.10 points to 35.10.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 488 to 310 and 100 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was up 0.28% or 0.17 to $61.84 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 0.21% or 0.15 to hit $72.22 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.20% or 2.40 to trade at $1226.30 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.18% to 30.641, while TWD/CNY rose 0.18% to 0.2251.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.01% at 96.00.
