Investing.com – Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Hotels, Other and Transport sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted rose 0.06%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Gourmet Master Co Ltd (TW:2723), which rose 10.00% or 22.00 points to trade at 242.00 at the close. CSBC Corp Taiwan (TW:2208) added 9.99% or 3.40 points to end at 37.45 and Taiwan Surface Mounting Technology Corp (TW:6278) was up 9.96% or 3.55 points to 39.20 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Airtac International Group (TW:1590), which lost 9.90% or 34.00 points to trade at 309.50 in late trade. Hiyes International Co Ltd (TW:2348) declined 6.30% or 3.30 points to end at 49.10 and Maxigen Biotech Inc (TW:1783) shed 6.27% or 1.90 points to 28.40.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 438 to 343 and 128 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.36% or 0.26 to $72.34 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.47% or 0.38 to hit $80.91 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.02% or 0.30 to trade at $1204.10 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.13% to 30.672, while TWD/CNY rose 0.22% to 0.2238.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.04% at 93.81.
