Investing.com – Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Glass, Trading & Consumer Goods and Hotels sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted added 0.03% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were AOPEN Inc (TW:3046), which rose 9.82% or 0.48 points to trade at 5.37 at the close. Cheer Time Enterprise Co Ltd (TW:3229) added 9.74% or 1.70 points to end at 19.15 and JSL Construction & Development Co Ltd (TW:2540) was up 8.41% or 1.80 points to 23.20 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Cayman Engley Industrial Co Ltd (TW:2239), which lost 9.97% or 16.50 points to trade at 149.00 in late trade. Apex International Co Ltd (TW:4927) declined 9.91% or 2.25 points to end at 20.45 and CyberPower Systems Inc (TW:3617) shed 9.82% or 11.00 points to 101.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 489 to 285 and 106 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was down 0.30% or 0.17 to $56.59 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 0.38% or 0.24 to hit $62.92 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.18% or 2.28 to trade at $1276.62 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.04% to 30.176, while TWD/CNY rose 0.05% to 0.2204.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.02% at 94.42.
