Investing.com – Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Semiconductor, Auto and Optoelectronic sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted rose 0.02%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Teapo Electronic Corp (TW:2375), which rose 10.00% or 3.65 points to trade at 40.15 at the close. Yeong Guan Energy Technology Group Co Ltd (TW:1589) added 10.00% or 5.00 points to end at 55.00 and Jui Li Enterprise Co Ltd (TW:1512) was up 9.94% or 0.64 points to 7.08 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tatung Co (TW:2371), which lost 9.95% or 3.30 points to trade at 29.85 in late trade. Chroma ATE Inc (TW:2360) declined 7.63% or 9.50 points to end at 115.00 and Cheng Shin Rubber Ind. Co Ltd (TW:2105) shed 7.19% or 3.10 points to 40.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 440 to 364 and 101 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for February delivery was up 0.70% or 0.32 to $46.20 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 0.52% or 0.28 to hit $54.63 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.43% or 5.45 to trade at $1262.45 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.03% to 30.753, while TWD/CNY rose 0.22% to 0.2240.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.17% at 95.887.
