Investing.com – Sweden equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Basic Materials and Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Stockholm, the OMX Stockholm 30 declined 1.73% to hit a new 52-week low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Stockholm 30 were AstraZeneca PLC (ST:AZN), which rose 1.69% or 12.2 points to trade at 735.4 at the close. Atlas Copco AB Class A (ST:ATCOa) added 0.88% or 1.8 points to end at 207.1 and Atlas Copco AB Series B (ST:ATCOb) was up 0.60% or 1.2 points to 192.9 in late trade.
Biggest losers included SSAB AB ser. A (ST:SSABa), which lost 4.34% or 1.50 points to trade at 33.07 in late trade. Boliden AB (ST:BOL) declined 4.20% or 8.59 points to end at 195.96 and Swedish Match AB (ST:SWMA) shed 3.99% or 16.1 points to 387.5.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 589 to 77 and 29 ended unchanged on the Stockholm Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was down 4.86% or 2.78 to $54.42 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 4.87% or 3.25 to hit $63.54 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.13% or 1.60 to trade at $1223.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/SEK was up 0.15% to 10.3262, while USD/SEK rose 0.68% to 9.0637.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.45% at 96.50.
