Investing.com – Sweden equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Consumer Services and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Stockholm, the OMX Stockholm 30 rose 0.92%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Stockholm 30 were Boliden AB (ST:BOL), which rose 3.58% or 7.30 points to trade at 211.05 at the close. Hexagon AB ser. B (ST:HEXAb) added 2.95% or 12.3 points to end at 429.6 and Svenska Cellulosa SCA AB B (ST:SCAb) was up 2.51% or 1.9 points to 76.8 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Swedish Match AB (ST:SWMA), which lost 1.55% or 6.1 points to trade at 386.7 in late trade. Telia Company AB (ST:TELIA) declined 0.88% or 0.37 points to end at 41.60 and Alfa Laval AB (ST:ALFA) shed 0.44% or 0.8 points to 194.4.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 368 to 251 and 56 ended unchanged on the Stockholm Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for February delivery was down 0.38% or 0.20 to $51.91 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in March rose 0.25% or 0.15 to hit $60.79 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.51% or 6.55 to trade at $1294.95 a troy ounce.
EUR/SEK was up 0.21% to 10.2523, while USD/SEK rose 0.25% to 8.9881.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.04% at 95.635.
