Investing.com – Sweden equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Telecoms and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Stockholm, the OMX Stockholm 30 rose 0.16%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Stockholm 30 were Svenska Cellulosa SCA AB B (ST:SCAb), which rose 2.56% or 1.8 points to trade at 73.0 at the close. Swedish Match AB (ST:SWMA) added 2.00% or 7.2 points to end at 367.3 and Skanska AB ser. B (ST:SKAb) was up 1.73% or 2.45 points to 144.05 in late trade.
Biggest losers included H & M Hennes & Mauritz AB B (ST:HMb), which lost 1.80% or 2.5 points to trade at 136.1 in late trade. Atlas Copco AB Series B (ST:ATCOb) declined 1.62% or 3.2 points to end at 194.2 and Getinge AB ser. B (ST:GETIb) shed 1.18% or 1.0 points to 85.7.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 342 to 294 and 51 ended unchanged on the Stockholm Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for February delivery was up 2.92% or 1.36 to $47.96 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 2.35% or 1.32 to hit $57.58 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.43% or 5.40 to trade at $1259.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/SEK was up 0.42% to 10.3475, while USD/SEK fell 0.11% to 9.0604.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.47% at 96.118.
