Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Plantations, Diversified Holdings and Investment Trust sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share declined 0.52%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were J L Morison Sons & Jones (Ceylon) PLC (CM:MORI), which rose 17.62% or 74.90 points to trade at 500.00 at the close. Beruwala Resorts PLC (CM:BERU) added 10.00% or 0.100 points to end at 1.100 and Blue Diamonds Jewellery Worldwide PLC (CM:BLUE) was up 7.69% or 0.100 points to 1.400 in late trade.
Biggest losers included PC Pharma PLC (CM:PCPH), which lost 50.00% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.1000 in late trade. Fortress Resorts Plc (CM:RHTL) declined 12.59% or 1.70 points to end at 11.80 and Kotmale Holdings PLC (CM:LAMB) shed 11.07% or 25.70 points to 206.50.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 102 to 78 and 56 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.33% or 0.15 to $45.12 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 0.40% or 0.19 to hit $47.56 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.31% or 3.92 to trade at $1252.58 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.25% to 195.030, while USD/LKR fell 0.27% to 152.665.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.04% at 96.83.
