Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Power & Energy, Trading and Diversified Holdings sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share declined 0.40%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Carson Cumberbatch PLC (CM:CARS), which rose 15.03% or 24.80 points to trade at 189.80 at the close. Serendib Hotels PLC (CM:SHOT) added 10.62% or 1.70 points to end at 17.70 and Good Hope PLC (CM:GOOD) was up 9.57% or 86.40 points to 989.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Kelsey Developments PLC (CM:KDL), which lost 22.86% or 8.00 points to trade at 27.00 in late trade. Beruwala Resorts PLC (CM:BERU) declined 14.29% or 0.100 points to end at 0.600 and Nation Lanka Finance PLC (CM:CSF) shed 12.50% or 0.100 points to 0.700.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 82 to 62 and 64 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.70% or 0.50 to $71.47 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.34% or 0.27 to hit $80.53 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.28% or 3.40 to trade at $1224.20 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.68% to 224.420, while USD/LKR fell 0.85% to 169.840.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 94.79.
