Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Information Technology, Services and Trading sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share lost 0.36%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were PC House PLC (CM:PCHO), which rose 100.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.200 at the close. Udapussellawa Plantations PLC (CM:UDPL) added 17.28% or 4.20 points to end at 28.50 and J L Morison Sons & Jones (Ceylon) PLC (CM:MORI) was up 14.94% or 63.70 points to 490.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Kalamazoo Systems PLC (CM:RNUK), which lost 24.31% or 175.10 points to trade at 545.10 in late trade. Lankem Ceylon PLC (CM:LCEY) declined 10.60% or 5.10 points to end at 43.00 and Amana Takaful PLC (CM:ATL) shed 10.00% or 0.100 points to 0.900.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 91 to 77 and 58 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was down 1.70% or 0.80 to $46.27 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 1.47% or 0.73 to hit $48.88 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.02% or 0.27 to trade at $1218.93 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.05% to 198.400, while USD/LKR rose 0.05% to 153.710.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.21% at 96.19.
