Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Diversified Holdings, Plantations and Construction & Engineering sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share fell 0.35% to hit a new 3-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB), which rose 20.00% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.6000 at the close. Selinsing PLC (CM:SELI) added 14.12% or 86.60 points to end at 700.00 and Carson Cumberbatch PLC (CM:CARS) was up 12.80% or 21.50 points to 189.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included PCH Holdings PLC (CM:PCHH), which lost 14.29% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.600 in late trade. Tess Agro PLC (CM:TESS) declined 12.50% or 0.100 points to end at 0.700 and Tea Smallholder Factories PLC (CM:TSML) shed 10.86% or 3.90 points to 32.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 103 to 64 and 61 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was down 0.53% or 0.36 to $67.85 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 0.36% or 0.28 to hit $77.44 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.23% or 3.00 to trade at $1304.50 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.31% to 210.830, while USD/LKR rose 0.16% to 158.340.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.17% at 93.90.
