Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Services, Telecoms and Footwear & Textile sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share declined 0.32% to hit a new 6-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Samson International PLC (CM:SIL), which rose 9.77% or 8.80 points to trade at 98.90 at the close. Lanka Aluminium Industries PLC (CM:LALU) added 9.27% or 7.00 points to end at 82.50 and Radiant Gems International PLC (CM:RGEM) was up 7.00% or 1.70 points to 26.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Kelani Valley Plantations PLC (CM:KVAL), which lost 22.86% or 16.00 points to trade at 54.00 in late trade. Kelani Cables PLC (CM:KCAB) declined 15.83% or 19.00 points to end at 101.00 and Swarnamahal Financial Services PLC (CM:SWAR) shed 9.09% or 0.100 points to 1.000.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 91 to 64 and 53 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for March delivery was up 0.47% or 0.25 to $53.79 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 0.57% or 0.32 to hit $56.88 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.36% or 4.45 to trade at $1214.95 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.28% to 188.185, while USD/LKR rose 0.10% to 150.640.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.20% at 100.03.
