Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Stores & Supplies, Plantations and Power & Energy sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share declined 0.26% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB), which rose 25.00% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.5000 at the close. Tess Agro PLC (CM:TESS) added 20.00% or 0.100 points to end at 0.600 and Blue Diamonds Jewellery Worldwide PLC (CM:BLUE) was up 20.00% or 0.100 points to 0.600 in late trade.
Biggest losers included PCH Holdings PLC (CM:PCHH), which lost 33.33% or 0.200 points to trade at 0.400 in late trade. Kelani Valley Plantations PLC (CM:KVAL) declined 22.42% or 17.60 points to end at 60.90 and Nanda Investments and Finance PLC (CM:NAND) shed 18.71% or 8.40 points to 36.50.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 123 to 51 and 56 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was up 0.82% or 0.55 to $67.75 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 0.88% or 0.64 to hit $73.25 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.25% or 3.00 to trade at $1201.90 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.30% to 204.735, while USD/LKR rose 0.05% to 160.090.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.01% at 96.15.
