Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Footwear & Textile, Healthcare and Plantations sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share lost 0.16%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM), which unchanged 0.00% or 0.000 points to trade at 0.300 at the close. PCH Holdings PLC (CM:PCHH) added 40.00% or 0.200 points to end at 0.700 and SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB) was up 20.00% or 0.1000 points to 0.6000 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Good Hope PLC (CM:GOOD), which lost 12.97% or 152.00 points to trade at 1020.00 in late trade. George Steuart Finance Ltd (CM:GEOR) declined 9.52% or 2.00 points to end at 19.00 and Nanda Investments and Finance PLC (CM:NAND) shed 9.42% or 4.90 points to 47.10.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 101 to 55 and 53 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was up 0.87% or 0.62 to $72.11 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 0.79% or 0.63 to hit $79.91 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.41% or 5.30 to trade at $1286.20 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.15% to 212.820, while USD/LKR fell 0.16% to 157.910.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.17% at 93.43.
