Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Information Technology, Land & Property and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share declined 0.14%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB), which rose 25.00% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.5000 at the close. Lanka Cement PLC (CM:LCEM) added 23.81% or 0.50 points to end at 2.60 and Amana Takaful Life Ltd (CM:ANTK) was up 23.76% or 2.40 points to 12.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Harischandra Mills PLC (CM:HARI), which lost 24.95% or 359.40 points to trade at 1081.00 in late trade. Blue Diamonds Jewellery Worldwide PLC (CM:BLUE) declined 16.67% or 0.100 points to end at 0.500 and Serendib Land PLC (CM:SLND) shed 15.30% or 226.70 points to 1255.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 84 to 77 and 64 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was down 0.41% or 0.28 to $68.44 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 0.35% or 0.27 to hit $75.86 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.30% or 3.70 to trade at $1209.60 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.40% to 206.825, while USD/LKR rose 0.44% to 161.060.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.08% at 95.16.
