Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Information Technology, Construction & Engineering and Diversified Holdings sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share declined 0.14%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM), which rose 50.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.300 at the close. SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB) added 25.00% or 0.1000 points to end at 0.5000 and Serendib Land PLC (CM:SLND) was up 25.00% or 370.40 points to 1852.10 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Singhe Hospitals Ltd (CM:SIGH), which lost 6.67% or 0.100 points to trade at 1.400 in late trade. Sunshine Holdings PLC (CM:SUN) declined 5.41% or 3.00 points to end at 52.50 and Kotagala Plantations PLC (CM:KOTA) shed 4.49% or 0.40 points to 8.50.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 84 to 66 and 58 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.12% or 0.08 to $69.22 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.47% or 0.35 to hit $74.28 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.31% or 3.80 to trade at $1228.00 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.30% to 210.430, while USD/LKR rose 0.02% to 159.590.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.10% at 94.07.
