Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Beverages & Tobacco, Investment Trust and Motors sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share fell 0.01%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were J L Morison Sons & Jones (Ceylon) PLC (CM:MORI), which rose 25.50% or 108.70 points to trade at 535.00 at the close. Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM) added 25.00% or 0.100 points to end at 0.500 and Ceylon Tea Brokers PLC (CM:CEYL) was up 21.62% or 0.800 points to 4.500 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Hunas Falls Hotels PLC (CM:HUNA), which lost 11.18% or 6.80 points to trade at 54.00 in late trade. Associated Motor Finance Company PLC (CM:ASSO) declined 10.85% or 49.90 points to end at 410.00 and Huejay International Investments PLC (CM:HUEJ) shed 9.79% or 3.80 points to 35.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 104 to 76 and 55 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was down 0.10% or 0.05 to $51.83 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.45% or 0.26 to hit $57.66 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.70% or 9.14 to trade at $1292.56 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.09% to 205.520, while USD/LKR rose 0.05% to 153.090.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.36% at 93.14.
