Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Investment Trust, Power & Energy and Construction & Engineering sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share gained 1.10% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were PC House PLC (CM:PCHO), which rose 100.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.200 at the close. Lucky Lanka Milk Processing Company Ltd (CM:LLMP) added 22.22% or 0.400 points to end at 2.200 and Kotmale Holdings PLC (CM:LAMB) was up 15.60% or 14.10 points to 104.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Serendib Land PLC (CM:SLND), which lost 18.73% or 311.20 points to trade at 1350.00 in late trade. Tangerine Beach Hotels PLC (CM:TANG) declined 9.24% or 5.50 points to end at 54.00 and Beruwala Resorts PLC (CM:BERU) shed 9.09% or 0.100 points to 1.000.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 152 to 43 and 43 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for May delivery was up 0.48% or 0.24 to $50.48 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 0.47% or 0.25 to hit $53.37 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.56% or 7.00 to trade at $1261.00 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.29% to 189.110, while USD/LKR fell 0.12% to 151.810.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.20% at 100.56.
