Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Information Technology, Investment Trust and Plantations sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share added 0.53%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Commercial Leasing & Finance PLC (CM:COLE), which rose 25.00% or 0.500 points to trade at 2.500 at the close. SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB) added 25.00% or 0.1000 points to end at 0.5000 and Huejay International Investments PLC (CM:HUEJ) was up 24.80% or 6.10 points to 30.70 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM), which lost 50.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.100 in late trade. Tess Agro PLC (CM:TESS) declined 16.67% or 0.100 points to end at 0.500 and Nation Lanka Finance PLC (CM:CSF) shed 11.11% or 0.100 points to 0.800.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 140 to 41 and 43 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was up 0.66% or 0.46 to $69.97 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.74% or 0.57 to hit $78.03 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.07% or 0.90 to trade at $1210.60 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.21% to 210.300, while USD/LKR rose 0.06% to 161.490.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.03% at 94.49.
