Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Investment Trust, Plantations and Information Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share added 0.34%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM), which rose 50.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.300 at the close. PCH Holdings PLC (CM:PCHH) added 20.00% or 0.100 points to end at 0.600 and SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB) was up 20.00% or 0.1000 points to 0.6000 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tess Agro PLC (CM:TESS), which lost 9.09% or 0.100 points to trade at 1.000 in late trade. Sathosa Motors PLC (CM:SMOT) declined 8.96% or 38.40 points to end at 390.10 and Serendib Land PLC (CM:SLND) shed 8.89% or 131.70 points to 1350.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 120 to 46 and 45 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for March delivery was up 0.85% or 0.55 to $65.28 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 0.96% or 0.66 to hit $69.55 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.03% or 0.40 to trade at $1342.70 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.63% to 219.600, while USD/LKR rose 0.20% to 154.110.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.06% at 88.90.
