Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Telecoms, Land & Property and Construction & Engineering sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share added 0.12%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM), which rose 50.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.300 at the close. Tess Agro PLC (CM:TESS) added 20.00% or 0.100 points to end at 0.600 and PCH Holdings PLC (CM:PCHH) was up 20.00% or 0.100 points to 0.600 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Beruwala Resorts PLC (CM:BERU), which lost 12.50% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.700 in late trade. Amaya Leisure PLC (CM:CONN) declined 9.53% or 4.70 points to end at 44.60 and Renuka Shaw Wallace PLC (CM:COCO) shed 8.67% or 1.30 points to 13.70.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 81 to 75 and 55 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.26% or 0.18 to $68.78 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.25% or 0.18 to hit $73.27 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.30% or 3.70 to trade at $1216.40 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.25% to 207.610, while USD/LKR rose 0.04% to 159.760.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.08% at 95.08.
