Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Telecoms & IT and Consumer Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 gained 0.37%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Caixabank SA (MC:CABK), which rose 5.52% or 0.138 points to trade at 2.639 at the close. Meanwhile, Repsol (MC:REP) added 3.32% or 0.306 points to end at 9.513 and Obrascon Huarte Lain (MC:OHL) was up 3.17% or 0.151 points to 4.912 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Arcel. Mittal (MC:MTS), which fell 5.68% or 0.209 points to trade at 3.473 at the close. Merlin Properties SA (MC:MRL) declined 3.32% or 0.35 points to end at 10.19 and Ferrovial (MC:FER) was down 2.35% or 0.455 points to 18.950.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 105 to 93 and 21 ended unchanged.
Gold for April delivery was down 0.01% or 0.10 to $1157.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 1.17% or 0.37 to hit $31.35 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 0.41% or 0.14 to trade at $34.32 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.65% to 1.1134, while EUR/GBP rose 0.21% to 0.7700.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.65% at 97.14.
