Investing.com – Spain equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Telecoms & IT and Building & Construction sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 fell 1.61%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Endesa (MC:ELE), which rose 0.98% or 0.180 points to trade at 18.605 at the close. Indra A (MC:IDR) added 0.13% or 0.015 points to end at 11.785 and Acerinox (MC:ACX) was up 0.09% or 0.010 points to 11.135 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Arcel. Mittal (MC:MTS), which lost 3.48% or 0.182 points to trade at 5.053 in late trade. B. Sabadell (MC:SABE) declined 3.17% or 0.039 points to end at 1.190 and Telefonica (MC:TEF) shed 3.00% or 0.285 points to 9.215.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 140 to 47 and 24 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.11% or 1.45 to $1327.05 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 2.68% or 1.24 to hit $45.05 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 2.19% or 1.06 to trade at $47.26 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.02% to 1.1233, while EUR/GBP rose 1.14% to 0.8520.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.33% at 95.43.
