Investing.com – Spain equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Consumer Services and Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 declined 0.32%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Indra A (MC:IDR), which rose 2.99% or 0.305 points to trade at 10.510 at the close. Gamesa (MC:GAM) added 1.93% or 0.330 points to end at 17.405 and Grifols SA (MC:GRLS) was up 1.19% or 0.230 points to 19.530 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Arcel. Mittal (MC:MTS), which lost 2.44% or 0.095 points to trade at 3.794 in late trade. Int.Airl.Grp (MC:ICAG) declined 2.36% or 0.169 points to end at 6.980 and Sacyr (MC:SCYR) shed 1.94% or 0.035 points to 1.771.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 104 to 87 and 20 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for April delivery was up 0.28% or 3.50 to $1247.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 0.31% or 0.13 to hit $41.39 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 0.46% or 0.19 to trade at $41.73 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.21% to 1.1218, while EUR/GBP rose 0.89% to 0.7894.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.27% at 95.66.
