Investing.com – Spain equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Consumer Services, Telecoms & IT and Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 fell 0.24%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Caixabank SA (MC:CABK), which rose 2.46% or 0.057 points to trade at 2.371 at the close. Banco Santander (MC:SAN) added 1.02% or 0.041 points to end at 4.051 and Bankia (MC:BKIA) was up 0.94% or 0.007 points to 0.754 in late trade.
Biggest losers included International Consolidated Airlines Group S.A. (MC:ICAG), which lost 4.25% or 0.192 points to trade at 4.322 in late trade. Aena Aeropuertos SA (MC:AENA) declined 2.57% or 3.35 points to end at 127.20 and Cellnex Telecom SA (MC:CLNX) shed 1.59% or 0.26 points to 15.80.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 99 to 94 and 20 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 1.01% or 12.85 to $1255.75 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.94% or 0.47 to hit $50.30 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 1.12% or 0.58 to trade at $52.44 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.38% to 1.1162, while EUR/GBP rose 0.40% to 0.8828.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.45% at 96.56.
