Investing.com – Spain equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic, Telecoms & IT and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 declined 0.08%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Cellnex Telecom SA (MC:CLNX), which rose 1.94% or 0.34 points to trade at 17.62 at the close. International Consolidated Airlines Group SA (MC:ICAG) added 1.21% or 0.084 points to end at 7.047 and Enagas (MC:ENAG) was up 0.70% or 0.180 points to 25.850 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banco Popular (MC:POP), which lost 3.61% or 0.025 points to trade at 0.667 in late trade. Iberdrola (MC:IBE) declined 1.26% or 0.089 points to end at 6.955 and Gamesa (MC:GAM) shed 1.14% or 0.235 points to 20.375.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 104 to 75 and 18 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.33% or 4.13 to $1251.37 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.49% or 0.25 to hit $51.22 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.44% or 0.24 to trade at $53.91 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.06% to 1.1176, while EUR/GBP rose 0.16% to 0.8643.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.05% at 97.33.
