Investing.com – Spain equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Telecoms & IT, Consumer Goods and Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 declined 0.08%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were International Consolidated Airlines Group S.A. (MC:ICAG), which rose 1.11% or 0.046 points to trade at 4.205 at the close. Ferrovial (MC:FER) added 1.06% or 0.190 points to end at 18.060 and Arcel. Mittal (MC:MTS) was up 1.00% or 0.057 points to 5.758 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Cellnex Telecom SA (MC:CLNX), which lost 1.85% or 0.28 points to trade at 15.12 in late trade. Grifols SA (MC:GRLS) declined 1.68% or 0.320 points to end at 18.780 and Gamesa (MC:GAM) shed 1.31% or 0.265 points to 19.965.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 100 to 85 and 23 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.15% or 1.85 to $1254.05 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 1.36% or 0.69 to hit $50.10 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 1.07% or 0.56 to trade at $51.85 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.26% to 1.1025, while EUR/GBP fell 1.05% to 0.9022.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.16% at 97.88.
