Investing.com – Spain equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Telecoms & IT and Building & Construction sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 fell 0.03%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Acerinox (MC:ACX), which rose 2.10% or 0.240 points to trade at 11.660 at the close. Grifols SA (MC:GRLS) added 1.26% or 0.300 points to end at 24.145 and ArcelorMittal SA (MC:MTS) was up 1.20% or 0.260 points to 21.960 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Viscofan (MC:VIS), which lost 2.09% or 1.100 points to trade at 51.420 in late trade. B. Sabadell (MC:SABE) declined 1.95% or 0.037 points to end at 1.861 and Mapfre (MC:MAP) shed 0.96% or 0.031 points to 3.209.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 98 to 67 and 22 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.85% or 10.36 to $1227.66 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.17% or 0.54 to hit $46.62 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 1.18% or 0.57 to trade at $48.99 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.47% to 1.1452, while EUR/GBP fell 0.57% to 0.8759.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.54% at 95.04.
