Investing.com – Spain equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Consumer Services and Telecoms & IT sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 lost 1.45%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Grifols SA (MC:GRLS), which rose 0.73% or 0.180 points to trade at 24.870 at the close. Viscofan (MC:VIS) added 0.64% or 0.320 points to end at 50.200 and Acciona (MC:ANA) was up 0.60% or 0.410 points to 68.300 in late trade.
Biggest losers included International Consolidated Airlines Group SA (MC:ICAG), which lost 6.26% or 0.472 points to trade at 7.066 in late trade. B. Sabadell (MC:SABE) declined 4.85% or 0.081 points to end at 1.588 and Melia Hotels (MC:MEL) shed 3.04% or 0.360 points to 11.480.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 133 to 41 and 20 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.19% or 2.40 to $1272.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 1.96% or 1.03 to hit $53.67 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 1.45% or 0.86 to trade at $60.16 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.58% to 1.1584, while EUR/GBP fell 0.23% to 0.8833.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.39% at 94.92.
