Investing.com – Spain equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Telecoms & IT and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 fell 1.19%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Endesa (MC:ELE), which rose 1.23% or 0.230 points to trade at 18.960 at the close. Grifols SA (MC:GRLS) added 0.55% or 0.135 points to end at 24.790 and Melia Hotels (MC:MEL) was up 0.48% or 0.055 points to 11.590 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Caixabank SA (MC:CABK), which lost 3.60% or 0.147 points to trade at 3.940 in late trade. B. Sabadell (MC:SABE) declined 3.43% or 0.060 points to end at 1.689 and Mediaset ESP (MC:TL5) shed 2.39% or 0.235 points to 9.605.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 131 to 47 and 19 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.66% or 8.40 to $1279.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 0.22% or 0.13 to hit $58.23 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.08% or 0.05 to trade at $64.95 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.24% to 1.1846, while EUR/GBP fell 0.19% to 0.8853.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.13% at 92.96.
