Investing.com – Spain equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Consumer Services, Financial Services & Real Estate and Telecoms & IT sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 lost 0.84%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Grifols SA (MC:GRLS), which rose 3.78% or 0.980 points to trade at 26.910 at the close. Viscofan (MC:VIS) added 1.40% or 0.800 points to end at 57.750 and Amadeus IT (MC:AMA) was up 0.57% or 0.400 points to 70.320 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Aena SME SA (MC:AENA), which lost 3.67% or 6.05 points to trade at 159.00 in late trade. Distribuidora Intl de Aliment (MC:DIDA) declined 3.24% or 0.089 points to end at 2.654 and ArcelorMittal SA (MC:MTS) shed 2.47% or 0.710 points to 28.060.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 124 to 56 and 23 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.05% or 0.60 to $1302.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.64% or 0.42 to hit $65.53 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 1.09% or 0.84 to trade at $76.48 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.23% to 1.1772, while EUR/GBP fell 0.09% to 0.8782.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.14% at 93.56.
