Investing.com – Spain equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Consumer Goods and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 lost 0.75% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Amadeus IT (MC:AMA), which rose 2.01% or 1.460 points to trade at 74.000 at the close. Viscofan (MC:VIS) added 0.66% or 0.400 points to end at 61.050 and Cellnex Telecom SA (MC:CLNX) was up 0.57% or 0.13 points to 23.03 in late trade.
Biggest losers included BBVA (MC:BBVA), which lost 3.23% or 0.182 points to trade at 5.458 in late trade. Banco Santander (MC:SAN) declined 2.43% or 0.111 points to end at 4.430 and Mediaset ESP (MC:TL5) shed 2.38% or 0.160 points to 6.560.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 132 to 46 and 16 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 1.39% or 17.00 to $1202.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 2.57% or 1.74 to hit $65.89 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 2.12% or 1.54 to trade at $71.27 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.19% to 1.1389, while EUR/GBP fell 0.06% to 0.8932.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.09% at 96.28.
