Investing.com – Spain equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Consumer Services and Telecoms & IT sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 lost 0.26%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Ferrovial (MC:FER), which rose 1.58% or 0.285 points to trade at 18.330 at the close. Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy SA (MC:GAM) added 1.30% or 0.150 points to end at 11.690 and ACS Actividades de Construccion y Servicios SA (MC:ACS) was up 1.00% or 0.320 points to 32.330 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Inditex (MC:ITX), which lost 2.49% or 0.765 points to trade at 29.955 in late trade. Bankia SA (MC:BKIA) declined 2.35% or 0.095 points to end at 3.954 and ArcelorMittal SA (MC:MTS) shed 2.01% or 0.535 points to 26.110.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 95 to 83 and 21 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.01% or 0.10 to $1257.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.33% or 0.19 to hit $57.23 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 0.22% or 0.14 to trade at $63.17 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.03% to 1.1775, while EUR/GBP rose 0.84% to 0.8844.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.23% at 93.86.
