Investing.com – Spain equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Consumer Goods and Telecoms & IT sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 lost 0.24%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy SA (MC:SGREN), which rose 14.12% or 1.395 points to trade at 11.277 at the close. Mediaset ESP (MC:TL5) added 4.69% or 0.288 points to end at 6.434 and Naturgy Energy Group SA (MC:GAS) was up 2.74% or 0.600 points to 22.470 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Distribuidora Intl de Aliment (MC:DIDA), which lost 7.05% or 0.058 points to trade at 0.764 in late trade. Tecnicas Reunidas (MC:TRE) declined 1.88% or 0.440 points to end at 23.010 and Grifols SA (MC:GRLS) shed 1.48% or 0.380 points to 25.300.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 89 to 79 and 20 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.15% or 1.80 to $1228.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 2.35% or 1.48 to hit $61.62 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 2.21% or 1.62 to trade at $71.55 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.13% to 1.1423, while EUR/GBP fell 0.23% to 0.8727.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.01% at 96.07.
