Investing.com – Spain equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Consumer Services, Financial Services & Real Estate and Building & Construction sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 declined 0.18%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Viscofan (MC:VIS), which rose 3.37% or 1.700 points to trade at 52.150 at the close. B. Sabadell (MC:SABE) added 2.99% or 0.033 points to end at 1.137 and Mediaset ESP (MC:TL5) was up 2.48% or 0.144 points to 5.942 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Distribuidora Intl de Aliment (MC:DIDA), which lost 13.39% or 0.107 points to trade at 0.692 in late trade. Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy SA (MC:SGREN) declined 3.62% or 0.364 points to end at 9.686 and BBVA (MC:BBVA) shed 2.84% or 0.146 points to 4.987.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 97 to 76 and 12 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.62% or 7.60 to $1224.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 1.10% or 0.74 to hit $66.30 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 1.63% or 1.26 to trade at $76.08 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.05% to 1.1366, while EUR/GBP rose 0.44% to 0.8929.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.28% at 96.62.
