Investing.com – Spain equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Building & Construction and Financial Services & Real Estate sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 fell 0.18%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Cellnex Telecom SA (MC:CLNX), which rose 1.23% or 0.28 points to trade at 22.96 at the close. Distribuidora Intl de Aliment (MC:DIDA) added 0.42% or 0.009 points to end at 2.167 and Tecnicas Reunidas (MC:TRE) was up 0.93% or 0.270 points to 29.320 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ArcelorMittal SA (MC:MTS), which lost 1.70% or 0.470 points to trade at 27.250 in late trade. Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy SA (MC:GAM) declined 1.00% or 0.120 points to end at 11.830 and Indra A (MC:IDR) shed 0.67% or 0.070 points to 10.390.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 85 to 78 and 24 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.35% or 4.30 to $1218.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 1.75% or 1.20 to hit $69.69 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 1.19% or 0.87 to trade at $74.08 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.06% to 1.1561, while EUR/GBP rose 0.39% to 0.8932.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.14% at 95.16.
