Investing.com – Spain equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Building & Construction and Telecoms & IT sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 fell 0.15%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Inditex (MC:ITX), which rose 3.53% or 1.020 points to trade at 29.940 at the close. International Consolidated Airlines Group SA (MC:ICAG) added 2.04% or 0.162 points to end at 8.092 and Amadeus IT (MC:AMA) was up 1.90% or 1.340 points to 71.780 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ferrovial (MC:FER), which lost 1.94% or 0.360 points to trade at 18.150 in late trade. ACS Actividades de Construccion y Servicios SA (MC:ACS) declined 1.60% or 0.590 points to end at 36.240 and BBVA (MC:BBVA) shed 1.45% or 0.090 points to 6.100.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 109 to 75 and 18 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.22% or 2.80 to $1302.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.30% or 0.20 to hit $66.56 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 0.67% or 0.51 to trade at $76.39 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.36% to 1.1787, while EUR/GBP rose 0.27% to 0.8808.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.27% at 93.58.
