Investing.com – Spain equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Telecoms & IT, Building & Construction and Financial Services & Real Estate sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 fell 0.13%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Grifols SA (MC:GRLS), which rose 1.16% or 0.290 points to trade at 25.340 at the close. Aena SME SA (MC:AENA) added 0.87% or 1.55 points to end at 179.05 and Endesa (MC:ELE) was up 0.77% or 0.150 points to 19.610 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tecnicas Reunidas (MC:TRE), which lost 3.39% or 0.900 points to trade at 25.670 in late trade. Ferrovial (MC:FER) declined 1.84% or 0.330 points to end at 17.640 and Telefonica (MC:TEF) shed 1.31% or 0.109 points to 8.239.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 89 to 88 and 30 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.09% or 1.20 to $1319.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.38% or 0.27 to hit $70.97 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 1.17% or 0.90 to trade at $78.02 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.27% to 1.1973, while EUR/GBP fell 0.06% to 0.8813.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.19% at 92.26.
