Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Telecoms & IT and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 gained 1.32%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Banco Santander (MC:SAN), which rose 2.88% or 0.114 points to trade at 4.075 at the close. Arcel. Mittal (MC:MTS) added 2.48% or 0.101 points to end at 4.176 and Banco Popular (MC:POP) was up 2.09% or 0.043 points to 2.101 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Indra A (MC:IDR), which lost 1.17% or 0.120 points to trade at 10.180 in late trade. Amadeus IT (MC:AMA) declined 0.43% or 0.175 points to end at 40.140 and Acerinox (MC:ACX) shed 0.32% or 0.031 points to 9.802.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 118 to 69 and 30 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was down 0.34% or 4.35 to $1262.25 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 2.37% or 1.03 to hit $44.47 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 3.78% or 1.65 to trade at $45.28 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.01% to 1.1383, while EUR/GBP fell 0.23% to 0.7881.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.04% at 94.18.
